The total of business made by the Brazilian candies and chocolate industries that attended Yummex Middle East, a international confectionery trade fair held in October 29th-31th in Dubai, exceeded US$ 10 million. The Brazilian candies and chocolate companies have attended Yummex since 2013, and, in 2019, the companies obtained the best results after all these years of participation.

“The record volume of sales for the sector in Dubai confirms the right strategy adopted by the Brazilian companies by strongly investing in innovation and follow-up of international trends in the production of candies and chocolate”, says ABICAB´s President (Brazilian Chocolates, Peanuts and Candies Manufacturers Association) Ubiracy Fonsêca. ABICAB organized the participation of the Brazilian delegation at Yummex with the support of Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).

The companies that attended the fair in Dubai this year were: CORY, DOCILE, EMBARÉ HERSHEY DO BRASIL, NEUGEBAUER, NUCITA, PECCIN, RICLAN e SIMAS. Together, they closed US$ 2.12 million in sales, and other US$ 7.9 million were secured for businesses in the next 12 months.

The amount of the businesses closed at Yummex grew 46% and the operations for the next 12 months grew 35%, in comparison to the numbers of last year.  In 2018, the figures registered were US$ 1.45 million and US$ 5.86 million, respectively.

There are indications that the expansion of Brazilian confectionery exports should be maintained, due to the new markets opened in Dubai. In the three days of the fair, the Brazilian companies received 403 visitors, an increase of 61% in comparison with 2018 (250).

The Brazilian highlight at the fair is the rich and varied portfolio, launching candies, caramels, chocolate bars, and spreads –  with innovative shapes and flavors inspired in Brazil´s rich diversity and tradition, confirmed by their vibrating, joyful packaging colors.
